An opportunity to help children and elderly in the remote villages of North Vietnam
Young children in the remote villages of North Vietnam do not have access to the health and educational opportunities available in urban Vietnam. It is estimated that up to a quarter of these children are affected by malnutrition and most don't possess quality warm clothing to protect them from the harsh winters, which often bring snow and ice.
Since 2014 I have raised over $20,000 Aud (mostly from within Australia, the US and France) to provide much needed warm clothing and food supplies to children and elderly in the most needy areas of this region of Vietnam.
I always cover all my own expenses to ensure that all the money raised goes directly to the children and elderly in these villages (with a small percentage going to necessary transport and logistics).
Every effort is made to purchase products made in Vietnam to support local businesses, and I always consult with responsible local people to determine the type of support.
